Pre & Post-care Tips

Pre-care.

Prepare for your treatments by following these steps before your visit.

  • Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks before your treatment.
  • Avoid electrolysis, tweezing, threading, bleaching, waxing or Nair 6 weeks before your treatment.
  • Avoid using tanning beds (bronzers and tanning creams, must be completely exfoliated off skin)
  • No photo-sensitive medication in the last 14 days prior to treatment, like antibiotics or anesthesia. We must wait at least 14 days after the last dosage of any photosensitive medication to treat.
  • Make sure the areas being treated have been shaved. Failure to shave before your appointment will result in a $20 shave fee.

Post-care.

Get the most out of your treatments by following these tips.

  • Immediately after treatment, you might experience erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site. This can usually last a few hours and then will subside
  • No additional heat such as saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, extremely hot showers, or strenuous activities for a minimum of 48 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after your treatment to avoid any hyper-pigmentation or hypo-pigmentation, a minimum of SPF 30 should be used on all areas which were treated.
  • Avoid picking or scratching the treated areas.
  • Exfoliated the area treated a week after treatment.
  • Shaving should be the only method one should be used to remove unwanted hair while doing laser hair removal.
